Campaigns List
The All Campaigns list shows all of your campaigns both active and inactive. To view the details of a specific campaign, click on the campaign name in the list.
To create a new campaign, click on the '+Add Campaign' button at the top right of the campaign list.
Campaign Detail Page
The Campaign Detail page displays the basic campaign information and the following campaign attributes:
- Linked Campaigns
- Attribution Rules
- Campaign Tracking Numbers
- Campaign Cost
Linked Campaigns
Linked campaigns allow you to associate your campaigns in ROI Metrics with your Google AdWords campaigns.
Before adding a Linked Campaign, make sure you create a Google AdWords Connector under Settings > Connectors.
To add a Linked Campaign, click on the blue settings icon at the top right of the Campaign Detail Page, then select Link AdWords Campaign.
Attribution Rules
Attribution rules let you create custom definitions of how campaigns are attributed to prospects based on source/referrer information, including:
- RCID - The rcid value is the default ROI Metrics campaign identifier. By including the rcid parameter in any links to your web site or landing pages (), the campaign will automatically be selected for prospects who convert to phone calls or contact forms. This attribution type is automatically included for all campaigns and does not require a custom attribution rule.
Example: http://www.yoursite.com/index.html?rcid=1000123
- UTM Values - UTM tracking parameters in your landing page can be matched to an attribution rule to automatically select a campaign. In the example link below, the first campaign with a matching Source, Medium, or Campaign attribution rule matching the values in the landing page URL would be attributed as the source.
Example: http://www.yoursite.com/index.html?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=promoted-post&utm_campaign=facebook-content

- Referrer - You can also analyze the referring URL of a visitor to define which campaign should be attributed to the prospect. For example if you had a display ad running on WSJ.com you could create a Referrer attribution rule matching wsj.com so that any prospects that came from wsj.com referring URL would be matched with that campaign.
If call tracking is set up, attribution of phone calls from web site source tracking pools happens automatically based on the rules described above. Calls from all other sources need to use linked CampaignTracking Numbers so inbound calls to a particular number can be sourced to a specific campaign.
To create an attribution rule, click on the blue settings icon at the top right of the Campaign Detail Page, then select Add Attribution Rule.
Campaign Tracking Numbers
Calls from offline and other sources can be automatically associated with a campaign by adding Campaign Tracking Numbers to the campaign. In this scenario, all phone calls to the linked phone number will be attributed to the selected campaign. Some types of campaigns that should use Campaign Tracking Numbers include:
- Email Campaigns
- AdWords Ad Extensions
- Facebook Ads
- Print Ads
- Radio/TV Ads
- Online Video Campaigns
- Local Pages
Campaign Cost
For campaigns that do not have a Connector to automatically update the cost, you can manually enter costs associated with ad spend, or any other campaign related expenses, including agency fees or any other marketing costs for that campaign.
You will be required to enter the amount spent and the date range the cost covered. Some examples included below for reference:
- SEO Vendor:
Cost = $2,000; Start Date = January 1; End Date = January 31. (Recurring Monthly) - Quarterly Print Publication:
Cost = $5,000; Start Date = January 1; End Date = March 30.
